Kitchen Cabinets!

Finally, the kitchen cabinets were installed. Vito, Haviva and Chris from Showcase Kitchens in Bloomfield guided me in the beautiful design and Tom and John did a wonderful job installing.

Installing the soapstone countertop.

Painting

Now comes the fun part of picking out paint colors. We decided on blue for the master bedroom because I have never had a blue room. I never realized there were so many shades of blue. After many samples we chose Sherwin Williams Quicksilver which has just a hint of blue.

The rest of the house is two different shades of beige that go well with the stone walls. The upstairs bedrooms are a light green and of course, pink for my daughter.

Countertops

We took a trip down to Kennedy Tile in Jersey City to pick out the marble for our countertops for the kitchen island and baths. The owner of Kennedy takes a trip to Italy every month to pick out slabs and tiles. Surely he must need some help. I volunteer.

This is Calcatta Gold for the kitchen island.

We chose Nevada tile for the kitchen floor, also from Kennedy. ADO tile installed all the tile in the house. This is Admir putting down the tile in the kitchen against the stone wall. A great job.

Then it was off to Texiera Soapstone in Hackensack, NJ for the kitchen countertop.

More beams

Sean and Brian from Fleming Construction rented a Genie lift and the beams went up pretty easily.
